Sometimes, a small moment can quietly change the course of everything. Something breaks, something is lost, and we are left to find a way forward with whatever we have. Sometimes, even our tears become the very thing that helps us survive. Years pass, and we grow older, but certain moments remain alive within us. They remind us that we have the power to create life again from fear, loss, and uncertainty. Maybe the universe never takes something from us without a reason. Maybe there is a force we cannot see, quietly guiding the path from somewhere beyond our understanding. And in the end, the mermaid represents that greater force of the universe to me a silent presence watching over our pain, our choices, and our little miracles. Sometimes, all it takes is a smile or a gentle wink to remind us that perhaps nothing is ever truly random. THE POEM & MUSIC BY ME A little girl came home with books in her arms, Unaware of the wonder, the magic, the charms. A book fell down, the fishbowl broke apart, The little fish fell with a frightened heart. She placed the fish inside a glass, Then filled it with her tears so fast. Drop by drop, they formed a sea, And set the little fish free. Years went by, and the girl grew tall, Yet the little fish stayed beside her through it all. Light began to pour from the magic orb that night, Revealing tears from long ago in its gentle light. The shore was still, while the restless waves swayed, A mermaid sat smiling, watching the scene she had made. She gazed at the orb, it faded from sight, This tale was born from her magic light. She turned to us and winked without a sound, As if she had dreamed the whole world around.
