THE POEM & MUSIC WERE CREATED BY ME A girl alone in a darkened room, A flicker of light inside the gloom. A butterfly trapped in a web so tight, Barely alive in the corner light. Dark thoughts crawl into her mind, No escape, no peace to find. The shadows close, she cannot run, The air grows heavy, blocking the sun. Then something breaks in fragile space The butterfly escapes its place. It flies to her through night and pain, And shadows disappear again. A circle of light begins to rise, Softly glowing in her eyes. She changes form, both strong and free, A swan is born upon the sea. Darkness fades away, She steps into a new day. Free and weightless toward the moon she goes, While twilight softly calls in tones.
