The lost deer
by PanteaAEW
In a forest where the soft moonlight gently touched the ground and the sunlight filtered through the tree branches, a woman dressed in strange and exotic attire walked among the trees. Her head resembled that of a deer, with long antlers, while her body was clad in a traditional red garment. She symbolized something that once roamed these woods freely and in abundance but was now on the brink of extinction: the yellow deer. This woman was the last remnant of a species that was once the embodiment of the beauty and power of nature in these forests. But over time, with human interference in the environment, relentless hunting, and habitat destruction, their numbers had drastically declined. Now, she wandered as a memorial to a forgotten nature among the cold, empty trees where life and vitality once thrived. She moved slowly through the forest as if searching for something lost—perhaps the sound of other deer, the scent of life, or maybe just the peace that once ruled these vast woods. Each step she took reminded her of the bitter truth that if humans continued their path, perhaps this last yellow deer would only survive in stories. With each step, dry leaves crunched beneath her feet, a soft and melancholic sound that was swallowed by the silence of the forest. The yellow deer, now alive only in memories, had become a symbol of loneliness, isolation, and irreversible loss. The background of the artwork is entirely physical, executed once with the black pen technique and once with acrylics, both of which are combined in this piece. The lighting was done in Photoshop, and then the deer was collaged into the work.
